MSHI 530 Computational Informatics

This graduate level computational informatics course provides an introductory, hands-on experience for health science researchers in informatics using the open-source R programming language. R is widely used as a statistical software and data analysis tool. Emphasis will be placed on accessing, formatting, and visualizing data. The course begins with defining research questions and moves to investigation on how to approach the research problem. The underlying theory or statistical techniques are discussed, and programming techniques and algorithms are explained. Several R programming languages are employed.
