MSHI 500 Healthcare Informatics

Health Care Informatics is a graduate-level course designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the field of health informatics and its role in improving healthcare delivery and outcomes. The course will cover the fundamental concepts and technologies of health informatics, including electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchange (HIE), telemedicine, and clinical decision support systems. Students will also learn about the use of data and analytics in healthcare, including data governance, data privacy and security, and quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, the course will address ethical and social responsibility considerations involved in the use and implementation of health informatics, providing students with a well-rounded understanding of the field. Upon completion of this course, students will have a solid foundation in the principles and practices of health informatics and will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes using technology and data-driven decision-making.
