CS 341 Introduction to Cybersecurity
Overview of cybersecurity topics, including malware, rough Wi-Fi, phishing, spyware, firewalls, identification and authorization, penetration testing, software security, intrusion detection, wireless and mobile security. Prerequisite: CS 330 with a minimum grade of “C”. Only offered in the Fall
Upon completion of this course student should be able to:
1. To identify common cyber security threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities
2. Have a basic understanding of cryptography functions such as symmetric and asymmetric encryption and digital certificates.
3. To understand the major security concepts, principles, and security vocabulary
4. To understand attacks against organizational information security, and how to defend
5. Learn how to use basic security tools
