DANC 515 Methods of Practice
The multi-disciplinary nature of current artspractice suggests that today?s artists need to gobeyond their particular art form, and understandthe issues that confront making and presentingacross the arts as a whole. Through a series oflectures- including those from practicing artistsdiscussing their work in relation to the tensionsof making and presenting - and through supportingdiscussions, related activities and self-directedtasks, this course is designed to broaden thestudents? understanding of the other arts, and tofamiliarize them with issues relating to practice.This in turn is intended to help students puttheir work in a broader arts context, to explorecorrespondences and differences, and to questiontheir creative practice in light of other artspractices.
