MUTH 275 MT Methods II

The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of music therapy clinical practice in the context of mental health care and hospice care. Students will discover how music can meet the various needs of individuals; become familiar with common diagnoses; and learn how to design, implement, and evaluate effective music therapy experiences in a variety of mental health and palliative care settings. The course will offer guidelines for facilitating recreative, receptive, compositional, and improvisational music therapy experiences and present ethical considerations of clinical practice.
