AMENDMENTS

The following identify the amendments to the College of Law Student Handbook, which was originally adopted in August 2022. All amendments are approved by the College of Law Faculty and Dean.

Amendments 1/2023: Updated admissions standards; edited grading normalization and grading scale.

Amendments 3/2023: Updated conditions for probation, dismissals, and dean’s list; added conditions for graduation with honors.

Amendments 4/2023: Specified technology requirement includes ability to use Examplify; added Academic Intervention for rising 2Ls; clarified ranking categories for transfer students; updated dean titles to reflect new organization; added mandatory academic success counseling for 1Ls; added required final examinations for first-year doctrinal courses.

Amendments 6/2023: Updated language used in reference to required upper-level course (upper-level required “electives” are now upper-level required courses; added Distance Education policy; added references to the practice of faculty to provide formative and summative assessment in all required courses; added information on student governance in the COL; relocoated “Transfer of Credit for Existing Law Students” to the section on Academic Credit; updated course sequencing.

Amendments 7/2023: Added Directed Research policy.

Amendments 4/2024: Updated Dismissal policy; updated Failing Grades policy; added course options to Advanced Legal Writing and Experiential Learning requirements.
