Penalty Classifications for Academic Misconduct
There are two levels of penalties for incidents of academic misconduct.
1) A course-level penalty, which is assigned by the instructor, in line with the policies on the instructor’s syllabus (see section V below).
2) A concurrent university-level penalty, which is assigned by the instructor’s dean and, in certain circumstances, the Chief Academic Officer, after evaluating the instructor’s recommendation for a warning or a citation, according to the guidelines in section VI below.
