ME 202 Materials in Design

This course introduces the properties needed to the selection of the materials in the engineering design process. The course focuses on the assessment of the demands of specific design criteria including mechanical, physical and thermal properties, corrosion, interaction with the service environment as well as economic and social factors.  The course also introduces principles and practice of materials processing and mechanical testing. This course has a laboratory component.
