CHEM 415 Biochemical Toxicology
This course will focus on the major classes of contaminants in aquatic environments specifically discussing modern instrumentation used to quantify and identify contaminants, responses of aquatic organisms exposed to the contaminants, and modern instrumentation used to measure those responses. Toxicology integrates chemistry, biology, and other scientific disciplines and demonstrates a practical application of this knowledge. Students will be able to apply their knowledge in the laboratory by conducting toxicity tests, using modern instrumentation to quantify and identify contaminants, and by measuring biological responses. Requisites: A “C” or better in
CHEM 205 & 205L or permission of the instructor. Must be completed prior to taking this course. Offered: Fall Only, Odd Year
