PPOL 618. Provides an overview of business information technologies and their varied application across the value chain. Emphasis is placed on assessment of current technologies, analytical techniques, technology trends and impact on business processes. Additional focus is on frameworks for management and control of IT within the firm and aligning IT strategy with organizational strategy. E- commerce and other effects of the IT-centric virtual marketplace on the firm are addressed. Students obtain an understanding of how business managers can leverage technology and analytical techniques to enhance their companies’ chances of success in the increasingly competitive global business environment.
