MUS 339 World Music History for Music Tech Majors
Students will learn about a diverse range of music(s) and musicultural traditions from around the world as well as how music(s) have evolved and developed through the unique conditions of the historical and cultural processes that gave rise to them. Students will gain understanding and appreciation for music from an ethnomusicological perspective, that is, as a musicultural phenomenon and how music(s) continue to develop and transform in a contemporary world defined by largescale processes of globalization, mass mediation, and electronic communications.
