MUS 255 Music Appreciation Music of the Beatles
The course will survey music of the Beatles, from the band’s early years, through the rise of “Beatlemania” in the 1960s, and the break-up of the group with the turn of 1970s. Listening and reading assignments will focus on the construction and analysis of selected songs and map how the Beatle’s style changed from their youth to pop to rock to studio-based experimentation and the concept album.
