ENGR 212 Design for Reliability and Manufacturability
Principles of reliability and manufacturability are introduced. Reliability metrics, such as mean time to failure, mean time between failures of a repairable system, failures in time and Defects per million months are covered. The importance of appropriate tolerancing, selection of materials, parts reduction/ combination, sustainability/ renewability on manufacturability will be addressed. This is a design-intensive course with a laboratory component.
