RN - Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) Admission
Admission requirements include:
- Official transcripts from each postsecondary institution attended.
- Must be a graduate from a state-approved Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma nursing program with an overall undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proof of graduation from a regionally or nationally accredited school with an accredited ACEN nursing program. Students accepted from a nationally accredited BSN program will be conditionally admitted and required to complete two courses at a “B” average or above to be granted full admission.
- Students applying for transfer from RN-BSN program to RN-MSN program are must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Active U.S. RN license.
- Copy of current driver’s license.
- A personal statement describing your reasons for pursuing an advanced degree and detailing your professional goals. Should not exceed two pages.
- Submission of professional resume.
- Reference letters are not required upon application, however the Keigwin School of Nursing reserves the right to request reference letters.
- TOEFL - minimum score 550 (paper), 280 (computer), 79 (internet-based), or IELTS – 6.5 if applicant’s primary language is not English.
Selection Process
Admission to the MSN Program is selective and limited to those students who demonstrate potential for successfully completing the program. The decision is based on evaluation of the student’s undergraduate program and grades earned, work experience (if applicable), and the personal interview, including the written essay.
