MSMS 623 Histology and Cell Biology
This course covers the internal structure of cells, tissues and organs in the human body presenting a comprehensive survey of many of their complex interrelationships. Clinical correlations will be discussed in small groups. Cell structure, tissue, and organs are also studied using virtual lab applications. Labs are delivered with each topic/tissue being discussed COURSE NUMBER NAME CREDITS

The students participate throughout the labs by identifying structures and characteristics of the prepared slides, as well as discussing the clinical correlations of the pathologies and metaplasia occurring. Students will prepare for laboratories by reading the assigned material and reviewing the corresponding structures in handouts and slides prior to the lab. A lab quiz will be given during each lab to assess student understanding of the specific structures and functions assigned for the week. Instruction includes lectures, clinical correlations, and laboratories sessions.
