MUS 290 Advanced Music Technology

Students will complete practical projects with technologies used for commercial music ensemble performance and production. Areas studied will include sampling; live looping; creating bass, guitar, and drum parts and the use of related effects; vocoding, vocal harmonizers, and pitch correction; adding piano and backing tracks; synth sounds – retro and original; use of MIDI and breath controllers; and techniques used in pop, EDM, and rock.  Prerequisites: MUS 142, 150, and 158.
